Dr. Sarah Merrick

Board Certified Internist & Founder

Dr. Sarah Merrick is a board-certified internist who has been caring for adults in Louisville since 2007. A Louisville native, she graduated from Sacred Heart Academy before attending the University of Notre Dame, where she earned her degree with highest honors. She then returned home to complete both medical school and residency training at the University of Louisville School of Medicine.

Dr. Merrick spent the first 12 years of her career practicing outpatient internal medicine with Baptist Medical Associates before joining MedLou in 2019. Throughout her career, she has been committed to building long-term relationships with her patients and helping them achieve their healthiest, most active lives. She believes that exceptional medical care is built on strong relationships, meaningful conversations, and having the time to truly understand each patient's goals and concerns.

Dr. Merrick provides comprehensive primary care for adults ages 18 and older, with special interests in preventive medicine, wellness, fitness, and women's health. She is particularly passionate about helping women navigate perimenopause and menopause, using evidence-based strategies to optimize health, energy, strength, and quality of life. Her approach combines traditional internal medicine with a proactive focus on helping patients stay healthy, active, and independent for years to come.

As the mother of three children, Dr. Merrick understands the challenges of balancing health, family, career, and life's many responsibilities. Outside of medicine, she enjoys hiking in the mountains, staying active in the gym, and pursuing her lifelong passion for health and wellness.

Dr. Merrick's goal is simple: to help patients live longer, healthier, and more active lives through personalized, relationship-based medical care.
